When you use MELAIRE, we store the following information on your behalf:

• Your email address and account details
• Hair profile information you enter (type, porosity, conditions)
• Hair & scalp health data, and — if you choose to use cycle tracking — menstrual, hormonal, and life-stage information (such as pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, or menopause)
• Photos you choose to upload to your journal
• Journal entries, routine steps, and style logs
• Product scan results and ingredient history
• Community posts and comments you write
• Your approximate location — only if you enable weather-based tips — to show hair-weather for your area
• App usage and diagnostic data, to improve features and fix crashes

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used only to provide the MELAIRE experience to you personally. Specifically:

• To show you your journal, routines, and style history
• To personalise your hair health insights and nudges
• To display your community posts to other signed-in users

We never sell your data or use it for advertising. We use a small number of trusted service providers — for secure hosting, analytics, crash reporting, payments, and notifications — who process data only on our instructions and never for their own purposes.

Health, cycle, and pregnancy-related information is treated as sensitive (special-category) data. We use it only to personalise your hair insights — never for advertising — and we never sell or share it.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely on certified cloud infrastructure. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit.

Only you can access your private data (journal, routines, scans, styles). Our systems enforce strict access controls so no other user can read your personal records.

4. Community Content

Posts and comments you share in the MELAIRE community are visible to all other signed-in MELAIRE users. They are not visible to unauthenticated visitors or the public internet.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access all the data we hold about you
• Correct any inaccurate information
• Delete your account and all associated data at any time
• Request a copy of your data

To delete your account, go to Settings → Delete Account. For any other requests, contact us through Help & Support.

6. Cookies & Analytics

MELAIRE uses only essential cookies required for authentication (your login session). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.

7. Children's Privacy

MELAIRE is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we make significant changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you within the app before the changes take effect.
